Traffic in Kanazawa

  Walking
Most of the main tourist resorts of Kanazawa are concentrated in a city area of approximately 2 kilometers square. When you go into back streets from the main street with modernistic scenes, you can see many places where division of the old castle town remains and come across with the historical atmosphere of Kanazawa.
  Taxi
Taxis are always standing by at the east gate of Kanazawa Station and on other main spots. It is comparatively easy to get a taxi on the main street. The flag-down fare of a small-size car is approximately 600 yen, and it will cost around 1,000 yen to move from area to area in the city.

Route Bus Service
There are number of bus routes in the city area of Kanazawa operated by Hokutetsu Bus. The bus exterior is cream and vermillion. The bus service from Kanazawa Station to Kata-machi via Musashigatsuji and Korinbo, in particular, is frequent. The bus leaves Kanazawa Station every several minutes. Take the bus from the rear door and pay 200 yen when you get off.
  Excursion Bus Service (Five Routes)
The excursion bus is convenient for tourists. Each bus runs on a single route, and each bus stop displays the bus number with an English notation.
