Title Light-up in Kanazawa Castle Park and Kenrokuen Garden   Date.   2010-01-04

It often snows from December to February in Kanazawa, and the snow falling in Kanazawa is humid and heavy.
In order to prevent the branches of trees from breaking owing to the heavy snow, yukitsuri (literally means snow hanging) tree supports are erected in the gardens everywhere in the city.

In Kenrokuen garden, the sprawling branches of the Karasaki pine tree, thought to have a particularly glorious shape, are supported by more than 800 pieces of rice-straw ropes, and it especially makes the most brilliant scene in the snow.

Both Kanazawa Castle Park and Kenrokuen Garden are lit up during the following periods, when you can see the fantastic views of the rope-supported pine trees turning a shining golden color.

Please enjoy the winter nights in Kanazawa.
