Title Cherry blossom season in Kanazawa   Date.   2010-03-17

Japanese spring starts when cherry trees come into bloom.

In Kenrokuen garden, 420 cherry trees of 40 kinds burst into bloom all at the time of their full bloom, when their pink pedals are all over in the garden, and this provides a spectacular view.

Admission of the garden is free from morning till night for a week during the time of cherry-blossom viewing. The free admission period can be finalized only a few days in advance.

According to the current weather forecast, the blossoms in Kanazawa will come into bloom on March 30 and become in full bloom April 5.

If you are planning to visit Kanazawa around this time of year, we suggest asking for information about the blooming at the information counter in JR Kanazawa station or your hotels.

 

Blooming forecast    Cherry blossoms will come into bloom on March 30 and get in full bloom on April 5 and be at their best for 4 days thereafter.

Kenrokuen garden     Ordinary admission is 7:00-18:00 and its fee is 300 yen for adults and 100 yen for schoolchildren.

                      Free admission is 7:00-21:30.

Kanazawa castle park  Same as Kenrokuen
