Title Kanazawa Noh Museum reopens on September 8   Date.   2012-08-12

Kanazawa Noh Museum will reopen after renovation aiming at a museum with a friendly ambiance beyond generations on September 8, 2012.

 

Contents of main attractive renovation of the museum are as follows.

1)  Newly opened experiencing corner: This corner allows the visitors to try on some of about 20 Noh masks with various expressions and a gorgeous costume that are displayed, of which you can take memorial pictures.

It will surely be one of the highlights of your trip to Kanazawa.

2)  Exhibition of Noh mask production: The various stages of production for a typical Noh mask from a block of cypress wood are put on display.

3)  Newly opened museum goods corner: Goods of Kanazawa¡¯s traditional artifice related with Noh play repertoire are sold, that will make pretty souvenirs.

4)  On the second floor where precious Noh masks and costumes mostly of Kaga-hosho style are introduced, the number of exhibits in the main room has been increased. It has also become more migratory for the visitors owing to its elaborate layout.
