Title Light-up of Kanazawa Castle Park and Kenrokuen Garden in Cherry Blossom Season   Date.   2009-03-18

Both Kanazawa Castle Park and Kenrokuen Garden are well known as some of Japan's leading cherry blossom viewing spots.

During one week when the blossoms are in bloom these two spots are lit up and opened to the public free of charge throughout the day.

According to the Kanazawa meteorological observatory, cherry blossoms in Kanazawa will come into bloom from around April 1 this year.

For many Japanese, spring wouldn't be spring without cherry blossom viewing.

Please visit these two famous spots and enjoy the beautiful views of cherry blossoms in full bloom. 

 

Time & date: 7:00 - 21:30, for one week in early April.

The dates will be fixed observing the blooming of the blossoms. Admission is free during the period.

Ordinarily, opening hours are 8:00 - 7:00 and admission of Kenrokuen Garden is charged.

Places:      Kanazawa Castle Park and Kenrokuen Garden.
