Alleys of Light-up and Flowers in Kanazawa


Kazuemachi Chaya District is one of the 3 chaya districts in Kanazawa. It has many Geisha houses lined up along the Asano River which clearly maintains an attractive appearance and feeling of the great castle town.
An event called "Alleys of Light-up and Flowers" will be held in Kazuemachi Chaya District. On the alleys around the district more than 300 sets of lanterns will be placed to produce a romantic night atmosphere of the Chaya Disrict. In addition,"Concert of Light-up and Flowers" in the nearby Hikoso-ryokuchi Garden and "Japanese Music Concert" in Kanazawa Phonograph Museum will take place.

Time and date:18:00-21:00, Saturday and Sunday the 10th and 11th October
Place: Kazuemachi Chaya District and Hikoso-ryokuchi Garden
Content: 1) Alleys of Light-up and Flowers with more than 100 sets of lanterns
         2) Concert of Light-up and Flowers at Hikoso-ryokuchi Garden with flower arrangement exhibition and violin and cello performance for 10 minutes from 18:00, 18:30, 19:00, 19:30, 20:00 and 20:30
         3) Japanese Music Concert at Kanazawa Phonograph Museum with Shamisen (3-string instrument) performance for 30 minutes from 18:30, 19:00, 19:30 and 20:00

English speaking guides from "Maidosan" (a volunteer guide group in Kanazawa) are available for free for your night walk there who will explain the history, etc. of the Chaya District.
