2 – The Gyokusen-en Garden

This charming garden is part of Kanazawa’s cultural heritage, known for its famous view overlooking Ishikawa, is only a two minute walk from the Kenroku-en Garden. The garden itself is very old, 120 years older than the Kenroku-en, and in the upper part of the garden you will find a tea house, Saisetsu-tei, which is one of the oldest tea houses in Japan. The owner, Mrs. Nishida, can provide you with a tea ceremony and explain the garden’s history.
