2 – Kanazawa Creative Tourism
The project of creative tourism was created with the aim in mind of allowing visitors to Kanazawa to fully appreciate it`s artistic creativity. The Artgummi NPO (Non-Profit Organization), heading the project, organizes meetings with artists, guided tours with architects, visits to artists` studios, et cetera. In all 9 circuits have been organized between October 2010 and August 2011 and an art concierge service offers private tours for individuals. Contact Artgummi for more details and to reserve.
The Artgummi organisation also houses a permanent exhibition in Kanazawa, where there are numerous performances and artistic events. The program is varied and regularly renewed. Easily accessible from the train station,the building itself is worth a visit for its original design. It was drawn by Togo MURANO, a reputed 20th century architect. The shop offers the possibility to not only buy souvenirs but also some of the works on display.
